Coast Guard channel opening

SAULT STE. MARIE, MI – In accordance with 33 CFR 165.901, the captain of the Port Sault Ste. Marie will open the waters [shown in aerial photo] between St.Ignace and Mackinac Island, effective 1400EST on March 14, 2013.

The Coast Guard would like to remind all recreational ice users to plan their activities carefully, use caution on the ice, and stay away from shipping channels.
