phantom 3/7/2013 3:33:50 PM ReportImagine that! old, outdated & broken infrastructure all through the city...but PUC invests millions for them to have a cozy new building!Hope their comfy while the rest of us have to deal with these almost weekly "outages"!
Yodad 3/7/2013 3:55:42 PM ReportYes, nice new building. All the jobs will go to Sudbury now that the OPA wants to amalgamate the utilities into super-centres. I suppose they could always try to rent it as an office building. Very wise use of tax payer money. Administration here is a joke anyway - workers out in the field do the best they can.
ThinkAgain 3/7/2013 4:04:51 PM ReportThe power goes out so much I have stopped resetting the microwave clock
Mermaid 3/7/2013 6:56:24 PM Reportphantom - are PUC employees homes exempt from power outages?
Sam C 3/7/2013 7:30:08 PM ReportDid any of you read the story -- "Foreign interference - Conductors broken during line construction." In other words, a piece of equipment hit the line.
If this had anything to do with "aging infrastructure," it was while upgrades were being performed.
footballgods 3/7/2013 10:31:11 PM ReportThank you Sam C for clearing that up for the brainless people above. By the way Phantom, did your power go out? It seems like everytime there's an outage, the same people complain. How many houses do you own in this city that it's always your power thats out. Anything else you want to complain about?
Grace 3/8/2013 7:59:39 AM ReportSam, You know the answer. NO THEY DON'T!
The fact that they seem blind to the report outlining that there is a planned possible takeover in the works robbing us of 114 million dollars of capital assets that we the shareholders own (including the new building)
Wake up!!
We own an asset that once gone will never return.
Think rates are high now just wait.
Are you prepared as owner/ shareholders/ratepayer to give up the 2 million that goes back to the city coffers every year resulting in those monies be recuperated in higher taxes or a cuts in services?
Power interruptions are going to be the least of our worries.
Gater 3/10/2013 6:00:20 PM ReportWhen there is a P.U.C outage in the East end.. If they need help..
They can call Country Style and get an Algoma Power Truck to help. There is always one there Mornings /weekends whatever. Usually running for the duration. So its ready to go I guess..
