Under 16 Provincial Alpine ski races are under-way at Searchmont

SEARCHMONT SKI RUNNERS
Teams are arriving today from across the province to compete in this year’s Under 16 Provincial Alpine ski races, held at Searchmont Resort.
Today’s events are the training runs for the Super-G race, a highspeed event set for tomorrow (Thursday).
Mr. James Lazor, Executive Director of Alpine Ontario Alpin states that “this is a great opportunity to showcase the beautiful north to our young athletes from around the province and enjoy the warm hospitality of the Northern Ontario Division, Searchmont and the Searchmont Ski Runners.
“Searchmont was the recipient of a $1.2 million grant from the Federal government this year and they intend to use it to upgrade their infrastructure – we look forward to witnessing the evolution”, he says.
Lazor reveals that “the U16’s promise to be a very exciting competition with some very talented racers vying for the top spots this year. Best of luck to all of you!”
