The dog can't find the guy who left the shoe's in the house?......let me see... we have an item for the dog to get the scent but the dog can't pick up the scent and track the little prick down....maybe they should find a good tracking dog! Just saying!
Dead End Kid 3/6/2013 5:52:57 PM Report

The Police should call the hospital to see if anyone came in to be treated for frost bite.

greeneyeds 3/6/2013 6:04:03 PM Report

So the guy has no issue with kicking in a door, unlawful entry or theft...but he draws the line at tracking snow through someone's house...it's good to know where the line is.

I live a couple of blocks over and had my side door kicked in twice in 3 weeks before I had the chance to have alarms and video surveillence installed. The police and I suspect it was the same person who committed both robberies at my residence. The second break and enter and theft he committed in broad daylight. My neighbour's daughter heard the "thud" of the door being kicked in and, still nervous from the first robbery three weeks prior, went to her parents to tell them what she heard. They all went out to their front yard to check on the situation and soon they saw the thief exiting my house, actually calling across their yard at him asking what he was doing, to which he replied, "I came to get some of my f**king clothes." He had a bag with clothing items in it: a couple of my leather jackets and hoodies, not to mention cash and jewellery (which, of course, my neighbours couldn't know and I am glad they didn't put themselves in harm's way for some mere material possessions). The guy was wearing a hoody so they didn't get a good look at his face. My neighbours called 911 from their yard and were talking to police while he was still in their sight, walking--not running--walking up our street. When he got to the corner he looked back at them and then bolted. The police dog tracked his scent to North Street ball park but lost it there. Unfortunate and brazen criminals like this fellow are, I suspect, desperate for drug money and their addictions have taken away any sense of decency or compassion for their fellow man they may have had. They are basically soulless. The fact the door on Charles Street was kicked in makes me wonder if "my" robber is still wandering this neighbourhood. It's terrifying to feel this vulnerable.

There's probably nothing wrong with the dog... the scent ended at the getaway vehicle. Either he drove with no shoes or his accomplise was waiting for him!!!

What a kind gentleman! How thoughtful of him!
Gater 3/6/2013 6:33:49 PM Report

sounds like he may be the fellow that was hit with beer bottle in the previous article Re- trailer park..

I think some lead poisening would eliminate alot of the breakins in this city.
jojoe71 3/6/2013 8:13:55 PM Report

maybe he was also shopping for a pair of shoes and the home owner came back too soon.
newcon 3/6/2013 9:05:59 PM Report

I only want to know one thing...is this guy subsidized by the Tax Payer? The one thing I'm 99% certain of is that this sorry shred of human debris is an ndp supporter but no doubt has somebody else mark a "check" in the appropriate box on election day. Good thing for him he doesn't have to spell the word "check" before he votes because that would eliminate not only him but also the person handling the pencil for him.
Later in the week I will be posting a segment designed especially for the righteously indignant and perpetually offended...("perpetually insulted" for those in Goulais River).

NEWCON!!!!!
Sam C 3/6/2013 9:20:07 PM Report

The dog is newly-trained and has just started his career with the Police Service.

Tracking dogs are great, but not infallible. I can think of several scenarios where the dog would "lose the scent," including the suspect getting into a vehicle and driving off.

This guy doesn't sound like a candidate for crook of the year. He'll get caught.
Big Deal 3/6/2013 11:36:10 PM Report

Whatever happened to our right to protect and defend ourselves and our homes???? Gun laws are RIDICULOUS in Canada!!! Crimes is WAY out of control for this small town and it's ONLY going to get worse!!!
Entity 3/7/2013 12:42:33 AM Report

Some of you choose really weird avenues to blather about your political agendas...

"A robber broke into a house"

- "IT'S THE NDP'S FAULT!"

- "NO IT'S GUN CONTROL'S FAULT!"

Mike58 3/7/2013 10:40:50 AM Report

Guns are for hunting... now a good baseball bat up side the head and a trip to to Greenwoods cemetary would go along way as a deterent to the next one.
