Jeunesse-Nord curling squad stands out at NOSSA Championship
The girls’ curling team from École secondaire catholique Jeunesse-Nord in Blind River displayed fine form during the Northern Ontario Secondary School Athletics Championship held in Sudbury on February 27 and 28.
During this regional championship, the Jeunesse-Nord team held its own against teams from all over Northern Ontario.
Team members Hayley Horton, Samantha McCallum, Brittany Astles and Taylor McNally were coached by Hassan Azzi.
This was the first time in seven years that Jeunesse-Nord reached the NOSSA Curling Championship.
To qualify for the NOSSA Championship, the Jeunesse-Nord curlers took part in the North Shore Secondary School Athletics Association Championship held from February 19 to 21.
The Conseil scolaire catholique du Nouvel-Ontario offers a French Catholic Educational Program that is widely recognized for its excellence.
The CSCNO provides a quality academic program that runs from early childhood to adult education, with some 7,000 students in 27 elementary and 10 secondary schools.
