Monday, March 04, 2013   by: SooToday.com Staff

Dr. Seuss (aka Theodore Geisel) was born on March 2, 1904, in Springfield, Massachusetts.

His many simple books are enlightening, inspiring and well loved by readers of all ages in more than a dozen countries.

Huron-Superior Catholic District School Board elementary schools celebrated his work last week.

At St. John Catholic school, the JK/SK and SK/1 classes are honouring his life and legacy by celebrating his birthday in fun ways

Showing off their Seussy finery (above) are teachers Jennifer Sloss and Amy Pagnotta, with Educational Assistant Melissa Cerra and student Olivia Bitonti.

Below, St. Paul Catholic School Principal Joe Chilelli and Vice-Principal Corey Gardi joined teachers and other staff members in reading to students of all grade levels.
