"As most of the Sault residents moan about the abundance of snow, my father (otherwise affectionately known as Nonno) decided to make the best of it and create something fun for his grandkids," loyal reader Tricia Lesnick tells us in an e-mail.
"He spent the winter months blowing the snow from the driveway and walkways into a large mound in his backyard. Over the past few weeks, he moulded it into a snowman and created a face using items like a basketball for a nose, and ping pong paddles for ears. Of course, what good would it be if you couldn’t play on it as well so he build a snow slide off the back. Needless to say, my two children were ecstatic yesterday as they reaped the benefits of Nonno’s winter project. This weekend’s project is giving him a name. If we’re going to have a long winter this year, we might as well enjoy it!"
