AREAS NEAR LAKE NIPIGON AND NORTH OF LAKE SUPERIOR WILL BE NEAR THE NORTHERN EDGE OF THE SNOW SHIELD FROM THIS STORM AND WILL RECEIVE A COUPLE MORE CENTIMETRES OF SNOW.
HOWEVER STRONG AND GUSTY NORTHERLY WINDS WILL CAUSE LOW VISIBILITY IN BLOWING SNOW IN EXPOSED AREAS, MAKING TRAVEL QUITE DIFFICULT.

HOWEVER THE SNOW MAY BE MIXED WITH FREEZING DRIZZLE THIS EVENING BEFORE CHANGING BACK TO SNOW AS MUCH COLDER AIR ARRIVES IN THE WAKE OF THE STORM CENTRE.
THE SNOW WILL TAPER OFF SLOWLY TONIGHT AS THE STORM CENTRE MOVES AWAY OVER SOUTHERN QUEBEC.
DRIVING CONDITIONS WILL BE HAZARDOUS DUE TO VERY LOW VISIBILITY IN AREAS OF HEAVIER SNOW AND BLOWING SNOW.

kelseybear9 2/19/2013 4:45:22 PM ReportWhatever happened to school snow days
cookie 2/19/2013 6:21:43 PM ReportYou will never see snow days here in the Sault! The schools remain open for business so that the teachers get paid and some parents get free babysitting!! I for one feel that if it is too dangerous for the buses to run then it is a snow day at our house. Now you have hundreds of motorists on the road driving their kids to school in nasty weather. I made my complaint years ago to the board and was told that the schools will remain open and it is up to the parent(s) to make the decision to keep the kids home. What a joke! Glad that safety comes first with the board!!
kelseybear9 2/19/2013 6:37:44 PM Reportthey'll keep doing that till there is a school bus accident and kids get hurt then maybe they will use common sense
cookie 2/19/2013 7:26:18 PM ReportYes, unfortunately that is the way it is. Very reactive instead of proactive! At least as a parent I can make the right decision.
chandler 2/19/2013 7:52:07 PM ReportThe bus companies do the cancelations ... not the school board.
cookie 2/24/2013 12:29:14 PM ReportWe know that!! That isn't the issue! The comment was, "what happened to snow days"?
Bus companies cancel buses not the schools!!!!!!!!
