Not news-worthy.
cashcab 2/17/2013 10:52:12 AM Report

No kidding. Soo today puts peoples names on here sometimes, just to kick them when they're down. Very sad.
AndyCap 2/17/2013 11:04:35 AM Report

What a riviting article. Im so glad someone covered this. Often the media will try and sweep this kinda atrocity under the rug. The people in this city have a right to know when Steven signs in at the station.

In Toronto this wold never be considered NEWS. How about some good old fahioned INVESTIGATIVE reporting like the days gone by.
Killswitch 2/17/2013 12:26:34 PM Report

stiJJy, cashcab, AndyCap.... not sure what the problem is with you three. It's been mentioned probably a million times now that Sootoday just regurgitates what the SSM Police Service hands them. No one went out of their way to report this. No one is kicking anyone when they're down. The dude in the article is obviously a moron anyhow, so who cares?

Oh, go and check Local2. They ran the same story. No one is bitching over there.... but here? You three have to whine about it.
willoweep 2/17/2013 12:32:10 PM Report

It's very clear it's not the first time he has failed to comply with his probation orders .

Sign in at Station every Friday ,I think there was an eight hour window of time.

But nope Steven doesn't feel like going to the Cop Shop till Sat.

One of the reasons for the sign in is often to ensure the Person is still within the Jurisdiction of local Police.

If he is on probation there is a reason for that and a judge decided part of his release order was to sign in .

The Cops are doing their job!,and I don't imagine they really want to be bothered with it either ,but it's the LAW

People complain that these offenders only get a slap on the wrist , then complain when the Police try to do something about it.

Earth shattering no ,maybe the embarrassment factor will kick in?

Besides if there was nothing mentioned of Police activities ,you'd be moaning about that too.

Making the lame Coffee Shop jokes ,what do you do on your Coffee break , drive around Town?

stiJJy 2/17/2013 12:42:44 PM Report

Killswitch, is this the kind of article you prefer to read on here? Nothing is going to change unless people speak up about it.

Oh Soo people you kill me. Negative Nellies.
I don't think anyone made you click this article to read it, unless there are SooToday ninjas that jump out from behind your couch yelling...CLICK IT...CLICK IT NOW!
anapeg 2/17/2013 1:06:11 PM Report

These folks REPORT the news not make it. If they could walk on water you people would post that the poor buggers couldn't swim. Makes one wonder at your home life when all you spout is negativity. Sunday suppers must be a hoot!
kingpin88 2/17/2013 2:02:05 PM Report

Steven was late, again because he's allowed to do so nobody is stopping him we'll see a lame story here that he's late again for the hundredth time the chances we get in life people might think Steven is an idiot but he's making alot of people look stupid
JustMe1234567 2/17/2013 2:07:47 PM Report

@kingpin - What was that? You lost me...
Mr E 2/17/2013 2:31:55 PM Report

I think what people are saying is this isn't news worthy of its own headline. Keep it in the policebeat section we could care less about someone missing their appt.

PF92 2/17/2013 3:21:16 PM Report

They kick you when your down, my friend got a DUI and called Sootoday and politely asked if they would just take his name off even, not even the article just the name, and whoever was on the phone refused with attitude to the point where my friend actually had to say "You'll hear from my lawyer" needless to say, the name was removed..;)
CAMO1 2/17/2013 6:24:17 PM Report

If these idiots would stop breaking the law, their names would not be in the news. The upstanding citizen "Steven" obviously can't follow rules no matter how simple.
Pete B 2/17/2013 7:12:49 PM Report

If your friend would not have been drinking and driving then he would not have gotten a DUI then he would not have worried about his name on sootoday!

People amaze me ! they do something stupid then wonder why there name should be public, live your life legally and and they would not get in trouble ! DUH!

I know a guy that was a truck driver and had to sign in at the city police station every friday, if he could not get back till saturday from toronto he would simply call the police staion before 5 and let them know he would be in saturday when he arrived home from work, just a phone call not hard to do!

He has no respect for authority. Send him to a work camp for awhile.

lol and some bozo got a DUI and said "I don't want anyone to know"... what a coward! and a dummy for calling a lawyer and wasting 1000 dollars..... If you can't do the time (public ridicule) then don't do the crime.
