It just burns my ass hearing of all these fires being set in this city. Like it wasn't bad enough with the fire that was set at the court house a couple years ago....the culprit not yet caught. It's time to amend the Y.C.J.A (Youth Criminal Justice Act) and make these youths pay for their crimes.

SuzyQ could not agree with you more.

I have to admit the 6" Arsonist made me giggle .

What is NOT funny is often the thrill of that Fire leads to wanting to do bigger and more, it becomes an adrenaline rush.

The next Fire may be someones back Porch etc.

It's a viscous and frustrating circle,no matter the age ,nothing is really going to happen to them.

Course we will pay for their right to an attorney ,court cost, and any Counselling and Probation Officers etc.

And realistically a lot of Parents either don't give a damn or think , Johnny didn't mean no harm ,boys will be boys.

Yes and Johnny will go on to bigger badder things and you will wring your hands and wonder what happened to Johnny?

NOTHING happened to Johnny and THAT is the problem.

When or if they find this criminal, they will only slap his wrist with some probation, and when he finally burns down someones house and murders the whole family, maybe then the system will finally see how it fails all the time. Look at the 3 murderers in jail already, they were all on here in the police beats, almost daily, all on probation, and the courts kept letting them out till they eventually killed someone.

@SuzyQ

As anybody who reads sootoday comments knows, I rarely agree with you... that being said,
I couldn't agree with you more on this. There are way too many fires being set right now, and it's the worst time of the year to have to fight a fire with all the ice and poor road conditions. And the only thing worse than a fire in the middle of winter, is our youth justice system.
