cjborg 2/11/2013 7:00:12 PM Report It will be most interesting to see how the new Minister/Teacher Union (nice nice) relationship evolves.... I hope I am wrong in thinking just more future teacher contract overspending, general all around capitulation, continued incompetence and scandalous mismanagement is in the cards...
In any case, we will have to wait and see how the new Ont. Fibs handle the messes they created... i.e.: Gas Plants, Ornge, E-Health, outlandish over spending on teacher salaries, renewable energy mismanagement in recent years.....etc. etc.
The sooner the public gets valid information and costs on these and other scandals and a follow-up election.... the better.
reapo 2/11/2013 9:39:38 PM Reportcjborg..What do you mean outlandish overspending on teacher's salaries? I deserve and work for every penny I make. Why doesn't the government save money by not paying for the lack of work done by McGuinty and his followers while the government was efectively shut down since November? None of them worked yet they all got paid. Our former premier is collecting his gratuity (also a pension) as are the other members of parliament. And what of the federal conservatives who continue to stack the senate with overpaid and underworked appointees? Talk about wasteful spending. You have no idea the work involved in teaching and until you show me your educational credentials along with your Ontario Teachers Certificate kindly keep your mouth shut. It's time that 'talkers' like you become 'listeners' for once.
W. Yote 2/11/2013 10:43:08 PM ReportWhy does our media publish this crap. I'm tired of hearing from these belly-aching teachers.

funny how you DIDN'T strike over the christmas break. Why? No kids to use as tools and your not going to give up paid holidays. Should be a clue to you. Why not strike in June? And now your union is going to kiss up to a new minister. Do you really think its fair for ME a tax payer to pay you todays pay rate for a sick day you didn't use fifteen or twenty years ago? Would you do that for me? Not likely.
Sleve 2/12/2013 8:23:22 AM ReportWhats the difference between a 8 yr Sault Michigan Teacher and a 8 yr Sault Ontario teacher ? About $32,500.00 yes I have a relative teaching in both cities, I am surprised no one really speaks to the fact that we have two boards (or should I say 3) in little Sault Ste Marie, two directors two board offices two payroll, H/R, plant services just to name a few, then we have the Huron board with a school way out in Espanola? 3 hours away? Yet it is only 55 minutes from Sudbury, turn the school over to Sudbury and save money would make sense to me.
