My heartfelt congratulations to David on a well deserved promotion to cabinet. Our city has benefitted so much from David's tireless drive to get to the ears of power on our behalf. As a minister of the crown things can only get better. David, as a community we are very proud of you and wish you long continued success helping not only the people of SSM but now all the province.
moem 2/11/2013 5:07:10 PM Report

Who elected you to speak for the community? Lol I bet there are many people who don't share your sentiment where he is concerned!!

When is the next election?
danno2257 2/11/2013 6:05:21 PM Report

Lygus, don't dare include the whole community in your congratulations, him and his party have put us so far in dept it will take 10 years to recover .I can hardly wait for the next election ,his party will be gone.
fatafr 2/11/2013 6:17:47 PM Report

Congratulations to our MPP David Orazietti. There's little doubt that Orazietti has been a very good representative for this City at Queen's Park. The City hasn't seen this kind of support in both finanacial and infrastructure benefits for a very long time, certainly not under our previous representative at Queen's Park.
Again, personally, if an election is called later this year, this City would be best served if Orazietti were re-elected and back at the helm. He has the experience and the wherewithall to best represent this City, more so, I think, than a new, inexperienced face from either the PC or NDP.
Like the vast majority of you, I just want what's best for our City and on this topic, Orazietti should be considered the best choice to remain as Sault Ste. Marie's MPP.
For those of you who don't like this train of thought, you will no doubt pounce on my personal opinion as being totally inaccurate, as some always do, but then, that's par for the course on these internet sights.
Now, go ahead and pounce and for the rest of you, have a great evening.

Gater 2/11/2013 6:23:05 PM Report

Excellent choice. A hard working MPP .that will without a doubt make an Excellent Minister of Natural Resources
Congrats ...
Norm 2/11/2013 6:29:04 PM Report

Lygus@Fata, congratulations to David for sure. I'm not so sure he will be a good fit though. Usually those jobs benefit the Minister, not so much the voter. An election would likely make Orizetti's new position short lived.
danno2257 2/11/2013 6:31:03 PM Report

fatsfr, thats only your opinion, not anyone else's,we will find out in the next election and the N.D.P. member served us longer and saved more jobs ,some people have a short memory.
Prrrrrrr 2/11/2013 6:41:57 PM Report

I appreciate what he's done for Ontario...if he never does another thing for this province, I'm still grateful for this one thing!

Adults who don't butt out in a car with kids would be fined no more than $250, instead of between $200 to $1,000 as originally proposed by Liberal backbencher David Orazietti who lobbied hard for the ban.
sinikka 2/11/2013 7:08:05 PM Report

Let me begin by saying i am not a liberal supporter. However, give credit where credit is due.How much money has david brought to this city during his tenure. This is money that his predecessors were unable to deliver. Congratulations David.
rcssm69 2/11/2013 7:14:58 PM Report

The NDP member "DID NOTHING FOR THIS CITY!!!" He sat on his lazy ass and discredited David any chance he got! That was the only thing he did well!!! We are a much better place with David on our side!!!

dicks and danno. You two must be twins because it would be hard to find a pair any dumber. Don't embarass yourselves and post again.
deputy dan 2/11/2013 8:01:08 PM Report

wow, Liberals want to keep the Soo, now the question is does David know anything about Natural Resources?????
I'm In 2/11/2013 9:54:33 PM Report

Deb, Joe and fatafr, you along with David O are a waste of Taxpayer money, not sure what they've done for this community, I've been here for 55 years not much has changed except for a new hospital, a couple super schools, and a Carmansway which the working people of this community paid for, (heck our roads are brutal, we dodge potholes on a daily basis, the Saults population is less than it was 30 years ago, businesses closing daily, our drinking water tastes like javex, thank god for Brita), our municipal taxes go up yearly wether we like it or not with no results just to keep the status quo at City Hall and you posters think these politicians are doing/have done a good job for us, s--t we even stand to lose OLG jobs let alone what we have lost already. I know one thing if I don't go to work everyday I would have nothing and no thanks, to the politicians I have mentioned above, because like one poster said they do this work to take care of themselves, just look at our CAO Joe who runs the city no matter what Deb says. And yes the Liberals are done in this province because like any politician, they promise the world at election time and none of them can be trusted.
W. Yote 2/11/2013 10:57:57 PM Report

Has David ever set foot in the forest? My educated guess is that he doesn't have the slightest clue about natural resources.

As an outdoorsman, and someone whose family has always been involved in forestry, hunting, fishing, trapping etc. I am not at all excited about this appointment.

Sad that the top boss dealing with our natural resources knows nothing about them.

danno2257 2/11/2013 11:00:39 PM Report

Grump, wake up where have you been dummy Bob.Rae and the N.D.P.(Martin) saved Algoma Steel and ST.Marys Paper were I worked in the mid 90's until retirement 2008 never threw money into a dead horse as did Dave almost 20 million and never bragged about every cent like your buddy Dave has, wake up ,who's the dummy get your facts correct.
dandrew61 2/12/2013 11:45:21 AM Report

I have to agree with W.Yote. As a hunter, trapper and fisherman I have to wonder, has David Orazietti ever stepped foot in the great outdoors and what does he actually know about it? Again our crown land that is supposed to be there for us to use, will be managed by someone who only looks at number and never actually gets up off his &%$ to take part in what he is in charge of.
rcssm69 2/12/2013 12:53:16 PM Report

Should the new Minister be a former hunter? Is that all it takes??? Wow...would be a short resume! I know how to kill things!!! References available upon request.
