Orazietti to be appointed to Cabinet

Monday, February 11, 2013   by: Darren Taylor

Many would say ‘it’s about time!’

An article posted on the Sault Star’s website says Sault Ste. Marie MPP David Orazietti will be appointed to the Ontario government cabinet as Minister of Natural Resources.

This will be Orazietti’s first cabinet post since being elected MPP in 2003.

Premier-designate Kathleen Wynne and her new cabinet will be officially sworn in later today.

SooToday.com will have more details as they become available.

Congratulations Mr. Orazietti!

Best of luck in the cabinet position.

Nice to see Orazietti get recognized for all his hard work and efforts, sad thing is look at all the MP's that are jumping off the bandwagon, retiring before it get really ugly, look at Rick Bartolucci from Sudbury, he knows he will not get in during the next election, all those Vale workers have a long memory. last note... Look how weak this cabinet, "rookies" not a good situation for Ontario that is on the verge of getting into some serious trouble... If a senior cabinet could barely keep Ontario going in tough economic times good luck to the rookies.

HEY DAVID! SOUNDS LIKE ACCESS TO CROWN LAND JUST BECAME AN ELECTION ISSUE!!!!
yoyo165 2/11/2013 11:34:05 AM Report

Congrats and good luck. Unfortuneatley I don't see any of the 3 parties winning a majority in the next election, but a local cabinet minister can only be a positive for our community!

Now when they close our parks to allow easier access to mining exploration we have a northern minister to blame.

It will be many years before I ever vote 'Liberal', again, in a provicincial election.

Dictionary- Land access among many of the other Toronto driven northern policy blunders of this government and many before it..

Don't hold your breath.

I hear there is a Northern Ontario party starting a riding association in the Soo. I won't waste another vote on a Southern Ontario party if that is the case.

All the best to David O. Hopefully he can bring some fresh ideas with him.
I also hope he'll be able to hold his own and not cow tow to big business and big government. Please remember the ordinary citizens David.

Senior ministers, rookies, parliamentary assistants...it matters not. "You can put lipstick on a pig..."

Congrats David!

Don't listen to the naysayers... put your mind to work at fixing the problems with the MNR and ignore the armchair QBs.

Congratulations David - well deserved I'm sure.

Sleve: "Look how weak this cabinet, "rookies" not a good situation for Ontario that is on the verge of getting into some serious trouble..."

I think change is a good thing...new fresh ideas. Sometimes the seniors are set in their ways and resistant to change.

Looking forward to seeing changes and hopefully the Liberal party can get back on top and into a majority again....

I can not understand this - treat people like crap, don't respond to requests from the people, attack certain groups through the media, lose the support of the community and you get a better job? David can't think for himself - he is only good at doing what he is told. It is embarassing to say he is from the Sault. Wynne does realize he supported Pupatello? Bunch of crooks - inexperienced crooks. Out with the Liberals! Enjoy the short stay David. I wonder if he is thinking about making some orange friends - never hurts to jump ship before the next election!
