Brewery continues to smoulder this morning (7 photos)

The ruins of the now gutted Northern Breweries building continue to smoulder this morning and there are few details available about the fire.

City police and fire crews are still on the scene at this time and fire crews have been battling the fire throughout the night.

Bay Street, from Spring to Brock, Spring Street, from Queen Street to Russ Ramsey Way and Russ Ramsey Way from Spring to Brock Street were still closed at that time.

Both the City Police and Fire departments remain on scene at the old Northern Breweries site where a major fire broke out late yesterday afternoon.
 
The cause of the fire is still under investigation and further details will be available at a later time.
 
Traffic in and around the area of the fire should be open later on this morning.

Crash... you may want to be very careful....libel suits can arise from comments made here.... an LOL does not dismiss an defamatory comment

Just because it looks suspicious does not in itself reflect any wrong doing …however I would be amiss if there is no stone left unturned in this fire. The fire teams of today have many resources at their disposal to see thru all the smoke and mirrors …pardon the pun ..!! Science has come a long way in just the past few yrs ..and it’s called fire forensics …. the DNA of fires so to speak.

seeing as its scheduled to be demolished anyways, not sure what kind of insurance payout would be there. Also any investigation/cleanup/etc around this is probably going to delay things which would could wind up costing the owners more.

I just wanna know where all those homeless pigeons and rats are going to live now...

druggies -> break in -> do drugs -> light fire to stay warm -> pass out -> building burns.
cops are there all the time clearing druggies out of there
