No word on Orazietti cabinet post

Speculation began to swirl Thursday that Sault Ste. Marie MPP David Orazietti will be named to a cabinet post when Ontario Premier-designate Kathleen Wynne is officially sworn in as Premier on Monday.
Sudbury MPP and Minister for Northern Development and Mines Rick Bartolucci announced Thursday he is withdrawing from the cabinet and will not seek re-election in the next provincial election, leading some to wonder if Orazietti will be granted the Northern Development and Mines portfolio.
Speaking to SooToday.com, Orazietti told us “Premier-designate Kathleen Wynne has not contacted me about reassigned responsibilities within our government, so there’s nothing I can report at this point.”
When asked if he would like the Northern Development post, Orazietti said “I’d rather not speculate…I’m happy to serve in whatever capacity.”
Orazietti was first elected as Sault MPP in 2003, and since then has shown a knack for getting cabinet ministers to visit the riding, and has himself served as parliamentary assistant to several ministers. He has most recently served as Parliamentary Assistant to outgoing Premier Dalton McGuinty.
As for Bartolucci and his announcement, Orazietti told us the Sudbury MPP has been in politics for many years and his decision not to seek re-election “is not completely unexpected.”
“He has been a great champion for northern Ontario and has represented his community incredibly well. I would say, on a personal note, he has been very supportive of the priorities I have put forward for Sault Ste. Marie, in funding for various projects. I certainly value his friendship and I have had a very positive relationship with him as a colleague.”

He makes a perfect candidate, he will be a complete puppet for Wynne, just like he was a yes man for Dalton.
Prepare for more Toronto policy here in the North. He doesn't care want the Soo wants if it goes against what his leader wants.

The rats cannot get off quickly enough, it seems. Energy Minister Bentley is bailing the party and politics.
David O - good for the Sault.
Provincial Libs - now considered toxic to the province, sinking like lead, the rats abandoning ship.
After the next election, in all likelihood, to be banished to the wood shed for a long, long time.
IMHO, it would be nice to see David O run for the federal Libs.

No point in taking the post except for the pay raise so your pension for life will be higher! While the rest of us have to pay for everything now from physio to increased user fees and license fees.
And now with the OLG reorganizing and probably going to a private company....a really dumb move, why give away a cash cow? except to lose the jobs here, as well as the building.
Pay for a 2 year study and report on social services then cut most of the benefits before the final report was out... now Wynne says she will go with the 170 directives of the report!?? and give the disabled a big 1% raise and act like it was such a huge raise in their pensions.
