Archie 2/7/2013 3:51:30 PM ReportAnd just how is the stuff delivered to you...? A person comes down the aisles and asks the patrons to pass a beer along to reach the guy that ordered it in the centre of the row.??? Do they only deliver during a break in the action?? or during intermission only?? Or can you get a delivery at any time during the game?
Oldie Goldie 2/7/2013 4:04:43 PM ReportArchie--Beer is not a part of the APP order as it cannot be sold in the seats.
Non-Alcoholic Drinks and food items can be ordered and I believe they will be delivered to your seat.
I believe that this set up will cause a lot of confusion in the aisles and seats.
If I sit in seat one am I supposed to pass an order over to a person in seat 8 and return the money and change required both ways ? I don't think so !
stiJJy 2/7/2013 4:06:25 PM ReportMaybe I'm misreading it, but I don't think it means delivery. I think it's like the prox cards at the bridge.
soohero 2/7/2013 4:08:00 PM ReportArchie, have you ever been to a sporting outside of the Soo? It's a sight to be seen. There are actually people who walk up and down the ailes shouting "HOT DOGS!" or "WHO WANTS PEANUTS?" or “ICE … COOOOOOLD … BEEEEEEEEEER.” They call them vendors.
Archie 2/7/2013 4:14:39 PM ReportSo, is the policy of not going up and down the aisles during play no longer going to be in place?
Are we going to have vendors blocking our view of the game as they ply their wares?
And the question remains.... payment, and delivery across the row... Seems to me that if I sit in seat 1 and a popcorn has to be passed to seat 12.... that person may receive a 1/2 container of popcorn by the time it gets to them.
And a family of 4 orders 4 large cokes, some french fries, a large P Corn, nacho chips and a slice of pizza...
DO I have to pass that along to the family 3 seats away from me.... I think not.
muf 2/7/2013 4:50:01 PM ReportYou just can`t beat living in the past. I`ll bet there were people who bitched when sliced bread was invented too !
jojoe71 2/7/2013 5:43:54 PM ReportI read in todays paper they will deliver to your seat. I believe when you order using your smart phone it will automaticily be taken out of your account. Events manager said beer is on the menu also but proof of age is required. I can also see a problem with this system. I wouldn't want my food passed along strangers who have dirty hands or colds or sneezing. what about proof of age....are you gonna pass your ID to the end of isle? Or is the vendor going to try to sashay in front of customers to get to the recepient? Then is it only during intermission....I would hope so.Personally this won't affect me but I can see a lot of problems. And I don't see the connection to sliced bread...you can buy it either way. JMHO
Oldie Goldie 2/7/2013 6:03:24 PM Reportjojoe---When Essar got it's License to sell beer there was to be no selling in the aisles so as not to interfere with the people---especially children--who are watching the game.
I certainly don't want workers standing in front of me while the game is on---Most of the Essar Staff are vigilant in stopping people from going to their seats while the game is in progress.
I have been to games in other cities and selling products from the aisles certainly takes a Customer's eyes off the game to pass things to other people in the rows---and when they have to pay and get change guess who has to pass all that along.
I can see them ordering from their seats and going to a place at the Canteen to get it by passing the lines but delivering to the seats will create problems.
jojoe71 2/7/2013 7:21:00 PM ReportOG...I was just saying that I read it on the front page of sault star today.
Trevor Zackary said that the available limited menu will include concession favourites like popcorn, hotdogs, beer and pop......go figure...
