I find it funny that there is never any credit given to the police for a job well done!!! But god forbid, someone gets away with something in this town...AND LOOKOUT!!! Cop bashing, city bashing, etc...
Great job SSM Police Services!!!

now let see ! why would people steal meat?could it be that they were hungry ? had no food at home? seriously ,if i operated or managed a food chain , that makes more money everyday from devoted customers , and i noticed someone taking food ,i would approach them and look into their situation , and donate a little to their needs. nobody should go hungry in canada, its the government thats starving this country ,, the rich get richer, the middle class are over-worked ,and the poor get poorer, and how much food do these stores throw out every day ? its all about greed and the mighty dollar, if we help each other ,nobody will go hungry ,
DAW 2/2/2013 9:19:54 AM Report

Harshbee....if these ladies can afford cocaine and other drugs, they certainly can pay for meat. They are by no means poor and in need. No need to look at their "situation".
sparoma 2/2/2013 9:21:41 AM Report

I agree totally that no one in this country should go hungry. But if you are in possession of coke and had money for that, I have no sympathy

harshbee or whatever you call him/her certainly knows how to use CTRL+C & CTRL+V
Stugatzu 2/2/2013 9:45:26 AM Report

harshbee is repeating him/her self to help validate his/her statement, even though the logic is screwed up. Absolutely no sympathy is given for people who will spend money on cocaine but then resort to stealing meat from a local grocer. We don't tolerate BS about going hungry and not having any food in your belly....if you _HAD_ money and spent it on cocaine, marijuana and oxys.

You deserve every bad thing you get in that case.
Beej 2/2/2013 9:53:34 AM Report

One day when I was walking towards the entrance to A&P, two young guys approached me with one of those recyclable shopping bags full and asked me if I would like to buy some rib eyes, T bones, strip loins for 50% off the sticker price, I hear this goes on all the the time.
JDW 2/2/2013 9:54:13 AM Report

I couldn't imagine hearing about my mother (when she was 50) being arrested for possession of cocaine. How utterly pathetic is that?
Big Deal 2/2/2013 10:00:03 AM Report

When I was in highschool, kids use to steal meat from the grocery stores and then sell the meat?
buddyjewel 2/2/2013 10:01:03 AM Report

harshbee
Really? The undertone of your statements makes me think that the store owner or anyone who is in business making money and an honest living is to blame. You must be one of the bleeding heart judges who sits on the bench and lets these culprits re-offend. If you had a grocery store and gave away free food after listening to every B.S. story out there, you my friend would be the busiest store in town.
Job well done SSMPS.
CrankxGirl 2/2/2013 11:04:25 AM Report

They sell the meat to bars, don't EVER eat at a bar.
Bad Dawg 2/2/2013 11:06:33 AM Report

he would have the busiest store but no profits and then he raises his prices so the stuff I buy costs my family more.

As far as I'm concerned if they have a car with gas they aren't poor, their dealer prolly takes the meat and they get get more pills.
Tom_Bom 2/2/2013 11:39:16 AM Report

Cocaine is a hell of a drug
JustMe1234567 2/2/2013 11:45:42 AM Report

Steal meat
Sell meat
Buy drugs
Get busted
Good!
JustMe1234567 2/2/2013 11:48:50 AM Report

@Tom_Bom

Cocaine, bad. The oxy's are even worse! Pill-heads! Get em off the streets, they are what is ruining people's lives and keeping methadone clinics busy.
Bad Dawg 2/2/2013 12:51:53 PM Report

yes... why weren't those pillheads charged with DUI?? They were obliviously impaired..... one good thing is that they are probably suffering some harsh withdrawls!!
Studlee 2/2/2013 1:01:53 PM Report

Oh yeah, big time coke heads here, and not too bright either. Funny thing is that they stole meat, I thought they'd go for the fish.
rcamp211 2/2/2013 1:18:00 PM Report

food prices are high to cover the cost of theft!the more people steal the more the hard working people are going to pay! if you feel bad for these women invite them over for supper!!
willoweep 2/2/2013 1:25:38 PM Report

Harshbee ,if they broke into your House would you stop to ask them if they were going to use those things to sell for Food?

And I don't care stealing is stealing, and as someone already said, we all pay for that.

Furthermore there is a soup kitchen opened everyday during the week .

People walk out of their with bags of leftovers a lot of days.

If they could make it to RJ's they could have made it the few extra blocks to the Soup Kitchen.

Oh wait, they probably are not up when the Soup Kitchen is opened.

I can sympathize with someone being addicted ,and I know it's and expensive habit .

I totally fail to see why the onus should be on the owner of the store to ask why they were stealing.

They LIE and steal to get their fix, do you really suppose they are going say " We have no food because we spent it all on drugs?

It's bad enough that they probably all live off the system in the first place ,and they probably blew their welfare checks that just came out on drugs.

Leave the poor weed alone i love smoking it....stupid war on weed.
jojoe71 2/2/2013 1:48:55 PM Report

Life is about choices. Everyone has a choice to be a loser or a productive citizen. Anyone who feels sorry for the loser can invite them home. Then you can witness first hand when they rip you off after you try to help them. Get your head out of your ass and look at the real world.
willoweep 2/2/2013 1:52:43 PM Report

Stupid or not weed is against the law .

I am hoping that changes ,make it available in a very controlled way and tax it.

The money saved on Law enforcement and our Court system would be tremendous, freeing up jail cells as well.

The taxes could be ear marked for Medical help or whatever .

Yep a win ,win situation all around.
Norm 2/2/2013 2:54:32 PM Report

Good job cops, also hats off to Larry, late Del.
Tom_Bom 2/2/2013 7:18:10 PM Report

I'd have sympathy for these women, if they weren't using their food money for hard drugs.

It's about priorities. Do you want to get gacked out of your mind for a few days, or do you want to have food for the month?

In their defense though Oxy's are an opiate and those are highly addictive and will change you and the withdrawals will make you push morality aside. Thats why they behave the way they do. I'm not justifying it in the least. Just trying to add a little context to the situation. It was good they were apprehended. Hopefully they'll receive treatment for their addictions.

Sweets312 2/2/2013 8:29:25 PM Report

@ willoweep - I think you'd be surprised at the people in this city (and others) that are addicts. Don't assume that all drug addicts are dirty, messy people living on welfare or on the streets. There are many high income earners that are very much addicts as well. Or, could've once been.
These ladies are being charged and hopefully the judge will make treatment one of the requirements for them to fulfill.
I can't imagine what it's like having such a horrible addiction and can only hope they can get the help they need. We don't know what kind of life people have had and it's certainly not our place to judge others. Some day your sister, brother, cousin, parent, grandparent, son or daughter could be in this position...maybe even you. You just don't know.
I find that the best way people learn a lesson is by walking in others shoes...so, just be careful on who and what you are passing judgement on.
JitterinOnRitalin 2/2/2013 10:58:55 PM Report

All of your people are clearly insane
willoweep 2/2/2013 11:39:23 PM Report

@sweet321 ,

Did you miss this part ?

I can sympathize with someone being addicted ,and I know it's and expensive habit .

And no where did I say they were dirty or messy .

And yes I did assume they were on the system, the white collar druggies , don't have to steal food to resell or to eat.

They steal from higher up the food chain ( no pun intended)

IB-fine 2/4/2013 1:28:49 PM Report

JDW -
never mind we couldn't ever imagine our mothers getting busted at 50 for cocaine,

the 21 yr. old with her .....is her daughter!

How's that for dandy parenting!?!?
