Common postpones retirement plans

SAULT STE. MARIE - In light of the various new initiatives currently under Dr. Common’s leadership (construction of the Health Hub, a framework for Collaboration with Northern Ontario Colleges, the proposed 1E2 project - Institute for Energy and the Environment), Sault College President, Dr. Ron Common has agreed to the Board’s request to postpone his retirement until the summer of 2014 to further advance these projects.

The Board is very pleased that Dr. Common has agreed to delay his retirement and facilitate a smooth transition for the College.

Doctor Common has been a great ambassador for our "little" college. With the all of the good, has come some bad, but that's true with all progress. Kudos to Doctor Common for his great efforts at making Sault College the best schools it can be, and his amazing staff and faculty for working hard to get it to be a great place to go to school. It's no secret he isn't a fan of the cold, but if he's willing to stick it out one more year for us, then kudos to him. Thank you Doctor Common, and the great things you have done for our college and our city!
