Vine, Jerry William Morris - October 15, 1945 - January 22, 2013
It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Jerry, surrounded by the love of his family, on Tuesday, January 22, 2013 at the Sault Area Hospital.
Beloved husband of Effie (Weir) for 39 years, and dearly loved father of Rhonda Fischer (Arvo).
The best Grandpa to Marisa and Katelyn.
Son of the late Bethel and Myrtle Vine.
Special brother to Bette McKinnon ( late Don ), Colleen Seabrook (late Lorne), Barbara King (Jack), Les Vine (Gayle), Lola King (Grant and the late Sidney MacFarlane) and the late Glenna Weir (Lionel and wife Bonnie) and Bud (Shirley and the late Lillian).
Dear son-in-law of the late George and Alice Weir and brother-in-law of Rachel Seabrook (Ron), Merle Coulter (late Gene) and Georgina Smith (Les).
Fondly remembered by many nieces, nephews and many loving friends.
Jerry was active in the community, having served on council, the Heritage Museum Board, Parks and Recreation, the Cemetery Board and The Algoma Cattleman’s Association as well as being an active member of the Thessalon Church of Christ.
He loved hunting, playing cards and visiting with friends and family.
He made us laugh, and most of all he made memories that will be cherished in our hearts.
The family wishes to express their appreciation to the Thessalon Hospital for the terrific doctors and nurses and the Sault Area Hospital 3C for taking such wonderful care of Jerry during his stay in the hospital.
Friends may call at the Thessalon Church of Christ, 18 Albert Street, Thessalon on Friday January 25, 2013 from 6 to 9 p.m.
Funeral service in the church building on Saturday, January 26 at 10 a.m. with Pastor Randy Morritt officiating.
Spring interment in Maple Ridge Cemetery.
Donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or the Lung Association gratefully accepted.
Funeral arrangements entrusted to Beggs Funeral Home, Thessalon, Ontario.
