Police warn against downtown scam

City Police received a complaint of a female going door to door in the downtown area requesting financial assistance for her and her baby.

It was determined to be a false claim and if any persons encounter a similar request they should contact Police.

This absolutley disgusts me knowing that there are people out there that would stoop so low as to use a child in a scam. When there may be someone with a child really in need, the community will be less likely or sceptical to help....disgusted!!

It absolutely disgust me that someone would need a wanning not to fall for that scam.
It,s not even a scam ,more like a server desperation plan for a fix.

babygriffin, the woman has no child, therefore it is a scam. There is nowhere that states the child was with her as she went door to door, so cool yourself down.
