Took a drive earlier, it was calm in town then as soon as I hit fifth line going up the hill all heck broke loose. No tracks to follow on the road and crazy heavy snow with little visibility. I wouldn't be surprised if they eventually did end up closing it at Heyden - or maybe that's just what they're telling people so they'll stay in the Soo.

usually when they close the highway at Heyden; we turn toward searchmont then left on 552 which tees at 17 north. this is handy if you live in Goulais.

I came through heyden at 9pm and it was fine driving the whole way past harmony. Sign at heyden says closed at highway 563 batchewana bay.

So far been a great winter-- for winter haters like myself! I guess I do feel bad for the people that get their income from winter--so bring it on(for them)--lots of snow as either way after groundhog day there isn't that much left!--i do appreciate the mild winter so far! That highway closes every few days eh?
