Group Health Centre receives major gift

The Group Health Centre is pleased to announce, at the beginning of its 50th anniversary year, the gift of the medical office building at 170 East Street, Sault Ste. Marie.

The Group Health ownership of 170 East Street was made possible through the generous donations of the following physicians: Dr. Alan Crawford, Dr. Gregory Simpson, Dr. Philip Catania, Dr. Peter Maione,  Dr. Gene Turgeon; Dr. Peter Hiron, Dr. Morley Mossing, Dr. Peter Apostle, Dr. Lino Pistor, Dr. Douglas Bignell, Dr. David Gould and Dr. Eric Stanton.

“Not all of the donor physicians are members of the Group Health Centre medical group and their gift shows their commitment to outpatient medical care in Sault Ste. Marie. On behalf of our 60,000 patients, we are extremely grateful for this act of philanthropy,” said Grant Walsh, President of the Group Health Centre.

The addition of 170 East Street will enhance accessibility and service to 60,000 patients.

The expansion builds on recent service investments including the Clinical Learning Centre under construction at 240 McNabb Street; implementation of a new state of the art Electronic Medical Record system; and the Walk‐In Clinic, which with the Same‐Day Clinic provides convenient access to care for rostered patients from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m., Monday through Friday.

After 50 years of service, the Group Health Centre remains committed to quality outpatient service and care with high patient satisfaction.

The GHC set the standard in interdisciplinary outpatient care and continues to be the leader in Canada in outpatient service.

When are we going to see an article that states that the GHC has reconsidered and canceled the ridiculous fee for grief counseling?
