Sault College local WUSC committee dancing to change lives
Sault College’s Local WUSC committee is helping Sault Ste. Marie dance off those holiday pounds and support a great cause
SAULT STE. MARIE - If your New Year’s resolution is to get fit, this is your opportunity to get started!
On Tuesday January 15 from 6 to 7:30 p.m., Sault College will be hosting the second annual Zumba for the World University Service of Canada (WUSC).
There will be two 45-minute sessions with the first beginning at 6 p.m. and the second beginning at 6:45 p.m.
The cost to participate in Zumba will be $10 for one 45-minute session or $15 for both sessions.
There will be a half price deal for Sault College students that show a valid student card.
“The World University Service of Canada’s Student Refugee Program helps bring refugee students to Sault Ste Marie to study at Sault College,” notes Graham Barber, Cultural Activities Coordinator at Sault College. “We are proud to host a student refugee at our College this year and through fundraising events like this, we hope to have another student refugee next year. Funds raised will help to change a refugee’s life, and all you have to do is dance.”
Zumba is a Latin-inspired dance-fitness program that incorporates dance and music into an easy-to-follow routine.
The event is open to all fitness ages and fitness levels with all proceeds supporting the WUSC student refugee program at Sault College.
This event owes its success to its dedicated local volunteers and to the instructor Lisa Maidra.
Zumba for WUSC will be in room A1080 and is open to the public.
Parking is available in front of Essar Hall or in the the A-Lot located across the street from the College.
To learn more about this exciting opportunity and how you can get involved, please contact Graham Barber at 759-2554 ext. 2424.
