The next story says freezing rain warnings called off for Searchmont.

Can you guys stay on top of this closure? I have family travelling that highway to and from the ski hill today and no cell contact.

A weather alert cancellation does not necessarily indicate clear and safe road conditions. Today's freezing rain has resulted in icy highways across Northern Ontario. Updated highway closure information will be posted as it becomes available.

The Searchmont highway was never closed anyways. It was Ranger Lake Road.

Can someone please tell me when it was even slightly icy today?
Voxboy876 1/11/2013 9:00:15 PM Report

I was all the way out to the 556 and 552 today on business. No Ice. Wet and very foggy.
tommy_boi07 1/12/2013 11:56:11 AM Report

It may not have been icy in town but keep in mind Ranger Lake is usually about 5 degrees cooler than the Sault, very likely to be icy on the roads.
