Warm weather wrecks some Sault winter fun

Outdoor ice rinks closed due to warm weather
The City of Sault Ste. Marie operated outdoor rinks are closed due to the current warm weather conditions.
This includes the following rinks:
-
Art Jennings Speed Skating Oval (Elizabeth Street)
-
Anna McCrea (Mark Street)
-
Esposito (Queen Street West)
-
Merrifield (Henrietta Street)
The rinks will not re-open until weather conditions improve.
Please refer to on-site signage at all outdoor rinks.

Bad Dawg 1/9/2013 12:33:10 PM ReportSuzyQ.... if you get chance try take a pic to get the numbers from the side of the machine. Police can't do much witout those numbers. talk to your nieghbors and get them calling to complain.... the squeaky wheel gets the grease.
SuzyyQ 1/9/2013 12:51:40 PM Reportthank you Bad Dawg, but trust me, I've already contacted the police about this chronic problem, and last year I was informed that they really can't do much without a plate number, and it is quite difficult to snap a photo and capture a number because these riders are too damn fast.

yes conspiracy...Sault doesn't want us skating..next thing they'll take away is our air!!! Are yu alright...what do yo think is up....it's warm outside...out yes Windsor has better methods of keeping rinks??? IT'S WARM OUTSIDE!!
kamen 1/9/2013 2:38:38 PM ReportI am not worried about the outdoor rinks, I am more worried about the fact that Bon Soo is right around the corner and as hard as the city has tried the last few years, Bon Soo kind of sucked due to the lack of snow and mild temperatures. I wish the snow would kick into high gear, and the temperatures would stay mild-ish, but cold enough to allow Bon Soo to be the way I remember it being as a child, 20 ft bum slides and amazing sculptures, once Bon Soo is over the snow can melt away and it can be as warm as summer for all I care.

Not sure that's what Windsor uses...but it would be nice to have a city outdoor rink ALL winter for FREE...it will never happen in this city, narrow minded, anti kid society here!
