Maybe this will jerk the US into banning guns. One can only hope
Stevie-E 12/14/2012 4:06:30 PM Report

Even better than banning guns:
Arm the teachers!?

I used to be 100% against guns but after seeing all these home invasions and public shootings on Canadian soil, I am not so sure.

Education, awareness and experience is key but it always seems that more and more idiots are getting their hands on guns.

agree...the right to bare arms...hey tell the dumb americans the british are not coming...
Meli_J 12/14/2012 4:08:41 PM Report

I hope the shooter suffered while he was dying....

When the gun laws were made in the USA, it took 30 seconds to a minute to re-load your gun. Now people can own guns that spray hundreds of bullets within seconds. Same laws.
Something wrong over there?

My heart goes out to the families of all these victims, as it's truly a sad day for mankind. I cannot even imagine what the parents of these children must be going through right now, as this would be any parents worst nightmare. This tragedy made me remember a song from the 70s, done by a British Rock band called Widowmaker, with the song being called "Leave The Kids Alone", as it's so true and very sad to watch today. Don't ever take for granted what you have today, because unfortunately, it could be gone tomorrow.

You anti-gun people can go pound sand. This isn't a gun issue, it's an insanity issue. No amount of gun control is going to stop someone in his mental state from harming people -- with any weapon. Bunch of law pushing retards....
Bluewolf 12/14/2012 5:47:45 PM Report

Take away "The Right To Bare Arms" out of the constitution and this wont happen as much as it does. This is a real tradgedy. A real loss of life....needlessly...god bless
Mandini 12/14/2012 6:59:04 PM Report

The right to 'bare' arms is something every person in Canada has the right to... The right to 'bear' arms is something that should be earned. Oye... Usually I don't care about spelling but jeeze...
Tom_Bom 12/14/2012 7:29:56 PM Report

Why would someone go and target children in such a.... I'm sorry I don't have words for this. I just don't have the words. I usually do. But I think a moment of silence on my part might mean a little more then saying anything we already know to be true and obvious.
Working Man 12/14/2012 7:34:56 PM Report

Mili J,

The shooter probably suffered most of his life. He was sick remember. People who don't have any problems don't do stuff like that.

Anyway, this is way too complex of a problem to even comment on here.

"A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed"
That one's number two on the constitution and not going away soon. it can not be "taken away".
Boomer4771 12/14/2012 10:25:38 PM Report

My deepest sympathy and prayers go out to the innocent families affected by this disturbing tragedy..
Bluewolf 12/14/2012 11:28:23 PM Report

It's long past the time to rewrite the American Constitution. The right to bear arms has been abused too many times. Its time to change the the way Americans think about firearms and how they treat people with mental issues. How many innocent beings are going to be slaughted again and again. What do you have to protect? If the guns were not avaiable to all then who whould you have to worry about? Americans have got to realise that sooner or later they will touched buy something like what happened today. Its not to late. again god bless the innocent!
harshbee 12/15/2012 9:40:26 AM Report

this is the most inhuman tragedy i ever heard of ,, the most horrific experience any child or parent can endure,. what goes on in a persons mind to have so much anger and rage that he would plan and walk into a school and shoot little children ,this was a senseless act od demonic actions. we must really question the games our children play also, those video games teach our kids how to plan and kill to win control over any situation ,, we have to start digging deeper into our children's minds to understand the confusion .
jojoe71 12/16/2012 9:04:25 AM Report

your going to hear after the facts come out that the shooter had a history of big time mental issues that were never properly dealt with. you hear it time and again when a tradgedy takes place. will anything change? I don't think so. What about the three children that were drowned while in their mothers custody. you hear time and again that the police can't do anything until they commit a crime. I think Bob Dylan got it right when he sang " The answer my friend is blowing in the wind....the answer is blowing in the wind...
