That doesn't sit too well in my craw, that person should never be allowed to drive a vehicle public or otherwise ever again. If it happened once (that we know of) it could happen again regardless of what some doctor might say.
I'm glad that none of my family was on that bus, they will be thinking of this each and every time they get on one from now on.
pyper39 12/7/2012 12:29:14 PM Report

Beej
Did you seriously read over what you wrote before posting it. This poor driver had a medical emergency!! How could anyone know when or if this would happen. Could happen to you on your way home tonight and you think for this the driver should lose their job!!
DOMAR 12/7/2012 12:52:25 PM Report

Main thing her is he didn't harm anyone and hopefully he's okay. The city just may have to find a more suitable job depending on his medical condition.
PipeBomb 12/7/2012 12:56:45 PM Report

Beej is another genius just like the one that posted on the original article. WOW.
Orthae 12/7/2012 12:57:15 PM Report

Beej, in other words, "This doesn't sit well with me, he should have known he was about to have a heart attack, stroke, or other medical problem that comes on spontanious".

You do realize you sound like a turd hitting the toilet, right?
sportsfan17 12/7/2012 12:58:13 PM Report

My thoughts go out to the bus driver and his family, as well as the passengers and their families! Glad to hear there aren't any serious injuries!

The city and doctors will need to do their due diligence to make sure that it is safe for this driver to operate a bus again but hopefully it was just a fluke, is fully treatable and there will be no lasting consequences for the driver!
Intwydimayla69 12/7/2012 1:10:00 PM Report

"The bus driver had a medical problem which caused her to lose consciousness."

Notice the 10th word in. I believe they mention it being a woman, not a man.

Trolls with nothing better to do, whether responding positively or negatively.

What time does Bingo start.....?
rcssm69 12/7/2012 1:13:16 PM Report

@Intwydimayla69
You talk about trolls with nothing better to do and you make a comment like that?!?!?!?!?
sportsfan17 12/7/2012 1:19:07 PM Report

LOL @ "Intwydimayla69"

The actual quote in this article reads:

"The operator suffered from a medical episode resulting in loss of control of the vehicle."

You're quoting from the article titled "Bus Driver Loses Consciousness".

Before do your own trolling with your prejudiced "Bingo" comments, make sure you complete your research.

@rcssm69 - did not know we were tweeting here, nonetheless, excellent choice of numeric representation for your tag!
Zing 12/7/2012 1:20:43 PM Report

"We shall continue to provide outstanding transit service for the citizens of Sault Ste. Marie."

ROTF, The transit system here sucks....no service on New Year's Eve? C'mon.
Intwydimayla69 12/7/2012 1:22:08 PM Report

@sportsfan - I was referring to the original article, not the updated article. Please place pilons in their correct position before attempting to back out.
rcssm69 12/7/2012 1:26:13 PM Report

Thanks! Ditto! LOL
Sam C 12/7/2012 1:37:54 PM Report

beej... the story also stated, quite clearly, that the operator would not be driving again until medically authorized to do so.

Unfortunately, a first-time incident can happen any time, and without warning.

Fortunately, no one was seriously injured. The outcome could have been much worse.

Stevie-E 12/7/2012 3:07:57 PM Report

Seriously, who want's to ride the bus on New Year's Eve?

There ARE cabs, albeit you may have to wait, but at least it's better than the bus.
soohero 12/7/2012 3:35:30 PM Report

@Intwydimayla69 if you're familiar with trolling you should know that placing an @ in front of a users name, which is not exclusive to tweeting, is a widespread way of responding to and conversing with others in web forums. In this case, it was a response to an ignorant immature comment from a true moron.
Intwydimayla69 12/7/2012 4:14:16 PM Report

@soohero Thank you for providing the moral fibre and turpitude that seems to be waning of late, as it relates to the lack of social responsibility in today’s culture. The reply you post speaks to the moral character that I am sure has been carefully bestowed and taken quite seriously throughout your meticulous upbringing. I enjoyed greatly the lesson on what might be a very prevalent belief that the ‘@’ symbol is not distinctly related to Twitter, nor its tweeting nation. Unfortunately, your belief that I am ignorant and immature is unfounded, and I would challenge you to substantiate the moronic remark, as I believe and quite frankly know, it is not the case.
The use of hero in your tag suggests you’ve done something dramatically influencing that is outside of what most any of us can or would do. Congratulations. As serious as you take life and this entire internet bantering, you should try to relax and not get into a position where the experience becomes one fraught with anxiety. Oh and BIOYA!
Sam C 12/7/2012 4:19:56 PM Report

@Tom_Bom... indeed, if you want Transit Service, you need to be out-standing at the Bus Stop!
kmw 12/7/2012 6:00:50 PM Report

PEOPLE OBVIOUSLY HAVE WAYYYYYY TOO MUCH TIME ON THEIR HANDS TO BE SITTING IN FRONT OF A COMPUTER COMMENTING ON AN ACCIDENT IN WHICH NOBODY WAS HURT AND AGAIN IT WAS AN ACCIDENT!!!! SERIOUSLY PEOPLE GET A LIFE, HONESTLY YOUR OPINION MEANS S@$T
rcamp211 12/7/2012 6:15:55 PM Report

did you know that you have to pass a medical exam to get a class B or C drivers license to drive a city bus.did you know that you do not need experience at driving a bus to get a job with the city.did you know if you are related to someone with the city the city will train you to get your license to drive a bus.

@kmw

Caps lock is cruise control for cool.

j.r.98 12/7/2012 8:11:38 PM Report

Wow , the comments were more entertaining then the article written. On a more serious note next time your out driving pay more attention to the other drivers on the road. Some are using cells , some smoking and/or speeding. Some may have been drinking. People take prescriptions every day for whatever illness they may have. This was a medical emergency you could say. There was no predicting it would happen. Geez,
happy camper 12/7/2012 8:31:28 PM Report

Well I hope that the driver is ok and that someone was by thier side during the medical emergency. Peace be with you all at this time of year.
Jamie333 12/8/2012 3:15:33 AM Report

i would be much more impressed if they took measures to stop the predatory
manner that some of the bus drivers treat young girls in town. Im tired of having to listen to grown men flirt with teen and even pre teen girls on the way to work and hearing lewd comments about girls young enough to be some of they're grand daughters at the terminal i know its not every bus driver and i don't want paint them all with the same brush but it happens often enough to bother me i am sure i cant be the only person to have experienced this and the city must be aware that this is going on its... im ashamed to say that i should of submitted a complaint eery time but didn't making me another part of the problem

not the opinion of the profile owner but they should learn to log out at work if they don't want people posting under they're name now for the insults and grammar lessons
patsboy 12/8/2012 9:44:22 AM Report

@happy camper

Why peace just this time of the year, why not peace all year round. Just an idea!!
