Collaborating outside the basket to customize (6 photos)

Thursday, December 06, 2012   by: Connie Carello

Owner and operator of “The Superior Basket Factory,” Brandie Casselman could not be more excited for the upcoming Christmas season.

Since her grand-opening on October 13th, Casselman could not be happier to provide her hometown with the opportunity to share love.

With a variety of different types of baskets for various occasions, Casselman’s shop, located in the Wellington Square Mall, highlights the opportunity to give personalized gifts this year.

“I made a pro-bass fishing basket for that hard-to-buy-for man in everyone’s life. I carry Bath and Body Works and corporate baskets with gourmet treats. Although, I do have some baskets that I have pre-arranged, I can customize the gift and make something for everyone.”

Originally from Sault Ste. Marie Casselman, returned home from Ottawa to start her own business.

After several years in health care, Casselman decided that it was time to put her artistic talent and passion for design to use.

“As a new mom, I am able to own and operate my own business and make sure that I have time to watch him grow up. I love it,” she said with a smile. “It allows me to show off my talents and provide gift-givers with a fresh idea.”

Aside from Christmas baskets, Casselman can make arrangements for baby showers, anniversaries, Mother’s Day, Father’s Day, birthdays, pet lovers, spa lovers and those wishing to show their condolence.

In collaboration with “Cupcakes in the City,” Casselman encourages patrons wishing to purchase a condolence basket to order 24 hours prior, as the two businesses have teamed up to include muffins and sugar free baked goods.

Some of her signature baskets with such health conscience foods can be found in the gift-shop at the Sault Area Hospital.

With endless opportunities for a wide-array of arrangements, Casselman asks shoppers this holiday season to come on in with personalized items including wine bottles to help her complete a customized basket, specifically for that special person in mind.

“I have something for everyone and because of this, I can work with you to create something special, work with any budget.”

A seasonal basket with gourmet treats might just be a wonderful gift idea to accompany a warm-holiday visit with close-family and friends.

To order your basket today, please visit Casselman in her quaint shop beside Wine Kitz in the Wellington Square Mall or phone (705) 257-5708.
