Sounds like someone thinks they're Jojo Savard, or Miss Cleo, lol...whatever the case may be, if you don't want your money stolen dont hang with trash and keep it in the bank.

That really is sad. Christmas season is a tough time of year for most people already with costs.
Slick Nick 11/29/2012 10:42:24 AM Report

I really don't know what the cash amount was, I was kidding around, but really, that's sad. My heart goes out to the poor person.
shju 11/29/2012 10:51:53 AM Report

Its a scam, if only money was taken then more then likely it was someone from the family who spent it at the casino and is afraid to tell the significant other so lets make a break in story so I wont get caught. And I love how everyone says omg the holidays, money is tight, quit spending money all year round then on stupid stuff, give up the cell phones and put that money towards gifts for the kids, that 1200$ a year for 2 cells phones would be a lot of nice gifts for the kids. Quit spending more then you make then you wouldn't be in so much money problems all the time.
iamtc 11/29/2012 11:04:04 AM Report

Shju you know it all... must of done something like that before once or twice you have it down pat.
moem 11/29/2012 11:14:38 AM Report

How do you know they have cell phones? Maybe it was money they have worked hard to save all year?? Why be so judgmental people are up in arms about crime, then they make comments about the victims?

And saying people hang with trash when they are robbed... Maybe the same could be said for everyone who bitches and whines on here when their stuff is taken

Why are people in this city so mean? Everyone is so quick to judge or put people, for a small city the Soo isn't very friendly....
OMGWTF 11/29/2012 12:05:42 PM Report

moem, and you're not being a little judgmental? I do agree with the cell phone point though. And smoking, buying booze etc. Count up how much you spend on this stuff a day or week and see what you could be saving for other things. You may want it but you don't need it.
PlasmaX 11/29/2012 12:15:56 PM Report

shju: are you certifiable? How do you turn a very brief article about cash being stolen from an apartment into a wild story about a scam with the money being spent at the casino and saving money for your kids? Why not make it even better and suggest that now that family member has fled town, hitchhiking to the west coast and the kids are living in squalor and will get no gifts for Christmas.

BTW What does spending money have to do with the theft of money?

^Above comment^
Thats why I said what I said, oh noes before christmas money is tight! hello
moem 11/29/2012 11:12:16 PM Report

No I'm really not judging I have seen some incredibly mean, off topic and uncalled for things on this site, there was no mention of any of the stuff that shju brought up, and no mention of booze etc... Even if the person spent most of their money frivolously, it doesn't give anyone the right to steal from them. I don't spend money on any of that stuff that you mentioned. We all have a right to spend our money any way we want, but above all none of this relates to the article. Xmas is an expensive time of year for people and nobody wants their things stolen. As for calling people mean, take a look at the story
about the father shoveling snow in his shorts, it
was meant to be light hearted and some jerk had
to make a cruel and totally unfounded comment
instead of being quiet!! Or maybe read the one
about the woman on dialysis who was trying to
win an air Canada I'm not making
judgments those people are being mean... That's
a fact! There is no need to make such comments
moem 11/29/2012 11:17:13 PM Report

Oh watch and see how long it takes some idiot to post a comment on the habitat for humanity article about how " they have to work and pay their own way and they don't get houses built for them blah blah..." no story regardless of it's positive nature is safe...
Ricatoni 11/30/2012 4:03:44 AM Report

moem::: blah blah blah..... there anything you dont know????
PlasmaX 11/30/2012 10:35:20 AM Report

Hey Rigatoni: How old are you? 12? Do your parents know you are posting on Sootoday at 4 am? tsk tsk ...
moem 11/30/2012 6:52:02 PM Report

I know from other articles that you're a racist, I can also tell you are mean, sorry I have a lot of experience working with poverty and marginalization in a large city. I have seen things that most people in the Soo could never comprehend I've seen extreme poverty beyond not being able to buy a new phone or eat at a fancy restaurant. I have heard the stories of several hundred homeless men women and children, I try to educate people and make them aware of the realities of poverty and barriers people face. It's been a large part of my job and if you don't like it or aren't interested in being a compassionate person why don't you just ignore me keep quiet and go about your exciting life rather than insulting me every chance you get!!! Karma's a bitch and I try to live my life as a good person and to help people, like a wise man said" be the change you want to see in the world!" I can tell from your posts the kind of world you want to live in.... I hope as plasmaX said that you are a child, if not I truly hope you don't have any because your behavior and values shouldn't be passed on to children:(
