Former Mantracker star coming to Northern Ontario to launch new book

Self-publishing allows portion of book revenue to be donated to Scouts and other non-profits

VICTORIA, BC - For six years, Terry Grant was one of the biggest reality television stars in the world.

Now the former host of OLNs Mantracker is teaching other people the skills he used to hunt sports stars and squabbling couples through the North American wilderness.

In partnership with self-publishing company FriesenPress, Terry and his "sidekick" for the book, Nadine Robinson will officially release Mantracking: The Ultimate Guide to Tracking Man or Beast on November 30, 2012, with a book signing in Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario.

The first signing will be held at Rivercity Motorsports from 4-7 p.m. on November 30, 2012 at 1133 Great Northern Road.

Terry will also sell and sign books at the Canadian Tire at 200 Mcnabb from noon to 2 p.m. on December 1.

Mantracking: The Ultimate Guide to Tracking Man or Beast can be pre-ordered online now through www.mantracking.ca and received in time to fill Christmas stockings.

“If everyone read this book, fewer people would get lost in the woods,” says Terry.

Designed as an introductory guide to tracking animals and humans through any environment, the book is as much about promoting getting outdoors and paying attention to your impact on the environment as it is about stalking prey.

Fans can select to pick up their copy at Rivercity Motorsports to save the cost of shipping and will be able to get their copy in advance of the signing day.

"I love coming to the Sault, the people are so great, and the signing events have been real popular," says Terry. "We're only bringing a limited number of books with us to sell, so I hope people will buy their book at www.mantracking.ca in advance so that they aren't let down waiting in one line to buy one instead of waiting in line to say howdy to me."

Self-publishing, with the assistance of FriesenPress, has allowed Terry and Nadine to donate more dollars from the sale of every book to Scouts Canada and other organizations that promote and respect wilderness pursuits.

“We turned down a deal from a big Canadian publisher because the industry royalty rate is real low,” says Terry. “If we didn't self-publish with FriesenPress, we wouldn't have been able to donate anything.”

In the Sault, Terry is further donating part of the proceeds for each book sold to the Professional Firefighters' Charity Fund.

FriesenPress Director Author Services Tammara Kennelly says: “It has been a pleasure to work with Nadine and Terry to produce a beautiful book with more dollars going towards supporting such a great cause. We hope more authors will take advantage of this unique opportunity that self publishing offers.”
