What is Ignite?

“Enlighten us, but make it quick” is the slogan of Ignite - a community event celebrating the passion and creativity of people that want to share their thoughts and ideas with others.

Ignite events bring together artists, techies, entrepreneurs, academics, thinkers, and others to share their ideas in fast-paced, bite-sized presentations.

Talks are 5 minutes long, 20 slides, 15 seconds per slide.

Wait, there's more.

Local food, Ignite Karaoke and Icebreaker

Your favourites and more are back for another year this Ignite.

Come and taste the best of what the Sault has to offer, from healthy dinner snacks to designer cupcakes.

There will be an icebreaker event to start off the night and get everyone introduced and pumped up for the night - more on the specifics of this game to come later.

We'll be bringing another round of Ignite Karaoke: you have a chance to put your name in a draw to participate in this during break between the first and second rounds of talks.

For those that are new to Ignite, this form of karaoke isn't about singing: if chosen, you will be up on stage, and perform an impromptu talk using a selection of slides we will provide.

Three performers will be drawn, and in the end a winner will be chosen to receive a prize.

Remember the date:
Friday November 30, doors open at 5 p.m.
Ignite Sault Ste. Marie 6 at The Grand Theatre

We look forward to seeing you all there!
