Interpreti Veneziani to perform at Mayor's gala for the Arts

SAULT STE. MARIE - The first ever Mayor’s Gala for the Arts - An Evening in Venice will take place on Friday, November 30 at Algoma’s Water Tower Inn.

Upon arrival at the Gala, guests will enter the magical world of Venice as they experience a European-style marketplace featuring Murano Glass, jewellery, gourmet Italian edibles, Italian leather accessories and beautiful floral arrangements.  

The evening will include a Venetian-themed dinner and a live auction showcasing luxury travel and recreation items.

The highlight of the evening will be a performance by Interpreti Veneziani, a superb baroque string orchestra, from Venice, Italy.

Tickets for the November 30 fundraising Gala, generously sponsored by OLG, are $125 per person and can be purchased through the Algoma Conservatory of Music.

A charitable receipt will be provided by the Conservatory for each ticket sold.

Proceeds from the 2012 Gala for the Arts event will benefit Algoma Conservatory Concerts and the City of Sault Ste. Marie Cultural Endowment Trust Fund.

Interpreti Veneziani will also perform on Saturday, December 1 at 7:30 p.m. at Central United Church as part of the Algoma Conservatory Concerts main stage series. 

Tickets are available at the Station Mall Box Office.

This concert season, the Conservatory will feature world renowned tenor Ben Heppner, The King’s Singers from England, and The Berlin Philharmonic Wind Quintet.
