geterdun 10/22/2012 7:55:04 PM ReportOnly have one question...WHY???????? in these uncertain times why would anyone be spending millions of dollars on a school, I suppose when your spending money that isnt yours you dont really care.....Its to bad this school will only be for Catholics......but hey their probably saying that if the public school board gets a new school Then we need one thats better then theirs.........A new school for a declining city yea that makes sense.......The priorties are backwards here in this city.....
Retreaded 10/22/2012 9:21:18 PM ReportIt is my understanding that you do NOT have to be Catholic to attend. You have to agree to take the religion courses...that is the only restriction. Correct me if i heard wrong.
geterdun 10/22/2012 9:39:17 PM ReportI think you have to pay your school taxes to them, if you dont you cant go.They want your money not your kids LOL...... Beside who would send their kids to a school were a certain religion is the only one that matters?? And why are religion classes mandatory for a school anyway????? Whatever??? They should have schools for every other religion as well, if you do it for one (Catholics) you should do it for all.........maybe the supreme court will get this one right......????
PlasmaX 10/23/2012 8:33:02 AM ReportYou do not have to pay your taxes to them - how do you pay taxes to Catholics anyway lol? Anyone can attend a Catholic school if they want to.
As for the mandatory religion classes - I think it's good that students learn about religion - in high school you also study world religions as well. With North America becoming more and more multi-cultural it is very important for children growing up to better understand other cultures.
geterdun 10/23/2012 1:56:07 PM ReportPlasma: when you own your own home you pay taxes and school tax is one of those taxes. They will ask you what religion you are so they can divert your tax money to that education. Were do you think they get all their money from ??? TAXES my friend.......try and get your kids into a catholic school when you dont pay your school taxes to them or you dont attend one of their churches and see what happens.......
RonStir 10/24/2012 7:27:36 AM Reportmore tax money spent where not a priority...
