CONSTABLE, George – Passed away peacefully in his home with family by his side after a long battle on Sunday, October 21, 2012.
The son of the late Charles and Margaret Constable.
Husband of the late Marjorie Barber and dearest companion of the late Mildred Bondar.
Beloved brother of Betty Strachan (late Pete), Lil Pelrin (Rene) and Grace Shunock.
Brother-in-law of the late William Barber and the late Kathleen Barber.
Cherished uncle of Monique Kevill (William), David Barber (Gail), Mary Doan (John), Linda Desborough (Gary), Wayne Strachan (Susan) and John Shunock.
Adored great uncle of Morgan and Payton Kevill, Sarah, Laura, James, John, Brendan and Conor, Tarah and Jason Shunock, Chad (Lisa) and Shannon (Tanya) Desborough and Aaron and Devin Sander.
Very special friend of Dr. Roberta Bondar and Barbara Bondar. In June, George had received the Senior of the Year award for 2012.
He was a WWII Naval Veteran, golfing advocate and a community charity volunteer.
Impossible to summarize such a wonderful man in one paragraph. He will be missed by his buddies at the Legion and at the Sault Golf Club.
A special heartfelt thank you to the nurses and caregivers from Bayshore, We Care, Redcross, N.E.C.C.A and Veteran’s Affairs for fulfilling George’s wishes.
Friends may call at the Arthur Funeral Home & Cremation Centre on Thursday, October 25, 2012 from 12 p.m. until the time of the funeral service in the chapel at 3 p.m.
