Maynard charged with impaired

Impaired charge laid
WAWA, ON – On October 19, 2012, at 9:22 p.m., the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Superior East Wawa Detachment were advised of a possible impaired driver on Highway 17 just north of Wawa.
A car fitting the description was located a short time later on Mission Road in Wawa.
The silver Mazda was observed weaving within its lane.
The OPP officer stopped the vehicle on Tamarack Ave. and the driver was observed stumbling and an odour of alcoholic beverage was detected emanating from the driver.
As a result of OPP investigation, 50-year-old Maynard Campbell of Michipicoten First Nation was arrested and charged with the following offences;
• Impaired Driving - Criminal Code of Canada
• Exceed 80 milligrams of Blood/Alcohol Content - Criminal Code of Canada
The accused was later released and is scheduled to appear in Wawa Criminal Court on December 19, 2012.
