Serious injuries suffered in three-vehicle crash

Three-vehicle collision
Three occupants treated for injuries
AWERES TWP, ON – Sault Ste. Marie OPP and Aweres Fire Department responded to a three-vehicle collision yesterday afternoon at approximately 4 p.m. at the intersection of Highway 17 and Highway 556 in Aweres Township.
The driver of a car traveling southbound on Highway 17 made a left hand turn onto Highway 556 and impacted with an SUV travelling northbound.
The car then collided with a truck stopped at the intersection on Highway 556 waiting to turn onto Highway 17.
The 49-year-old male driver of the car, and a 15-year-old male passenger and 6- year-old female child were transported to hospital by ambulance.
The 15-year-old male and 6-year-old child suffered serious non-life threatening injuries.
The investigation is continuing.
