The Rotary Club of Sault Ste. Marie needs your votes!

The club’s newest project is to build a splash pad in the downtown and have entered the Aviva Community Fund competition to attempt to garner funds for this water play area.

Go here every day to vote!

Kids of all ages have always taken to backyard sprinklers, neighborhood fire hydrants, and city fountains to cool off.

Nothing brings smiles to faces like an exciting world of unpredictable sprayers, oversized water cannons, and larger than life creatures.

Dripping with imaginative fun, splash pads are sprouting up in countless communities.

The Splash Pad is an area that will be fun for children and families, encourage a healthy-active lifestyle, motivate children and families to enjoy the downtown area, parks and waterfront, accessible for people from all walks of life, and above all, a great way to cool down in the summer.

Splash pads, or zero-depth water play area, have recently become popular in North American municipalities because they are high in safety, low in liability, relative cost, and maintenance, and require no hired supervision or life guards.

They also can be developed to ensure fun for children and adults alike.

A variety of aesthetic options are available, including in-ground sprays, urban spray sculptures, or kid-oriented equipment.

Also, environmentally-friendly components such as water recycling and motion-activated sensors offer the opportunity to have a “green‟ splash park.

Sault Ste. Marie residents deserve to share in this water fun!

Join the wave of support to create a tsunami of votes!
