Former Sault educator leads Lambton College to record-high enrolment

Judith Morris, a former Sault College teacher and administrator, has led Sarnia's Lambton College to an all-time enrolment record during her first year as the school's president and CEO. Lambton issued the following news release today:

Record enrolment numbers for Lambton College
SARNIA, ON (September 25, 2012) – The halls are busier this fall as Lambton College boasts record enrollment numbers for the 2012-13 school year.
The college has seen an 8 percent increase in student enrolment this year which has brought the numbers for first-year students to 2,075 and the total population at Lambton College to 3,494.
Lambton College is in first place provincially with a confirmation growth of 17.6 percent over last year.
“We are thrilled that students are making Lambton their college of choice,” said Judith Morris, president and CEO. “Our career-focused education and training programs are attracting these students, with particular credit being given to those not coming directly from secondary school and international students.”
Enrolment numbers were particularly strong in the health sciences, community services and fire and public safety areas with the practical nursing, pre-service firefighter, early childhood education, police foundations, Bachelor of Science - nursing, social service worker, personal support worker, paramedic, child and youth worker and massage therapy programs seeing the highest numbers.
In addition to those areas, the chemical production and power engineering technology, millwright mechanical technician, welding techniques and sports and recreation management programs were also in high demand and on target.
