War of 1812 Rendezvous and Fur Trade is taking place at the Ermitinger-Clergue National Historic Site, 831 Queen St. E., with fur trade re-enactors, food, music and dance. For further information, call 705-759-5443.

The Jeff Holmes Band performs at the Water Tower Pub, 360 Great Northern Rd., from 7 to 10 p.m.

The United Way of Sault Ste. Marie and District presents Thru The Decades with James Case and the Aces, a dinner and show, at the Marconi Club, 450 Albert St. This event marks the 55 anniversary of United Way in our community and the 35th anniversaries of Volunteer Sault Ste. Marie and the Canadian Hearing Society. Tickets are $50 each and include dinner. For tickets contact the United Way at 705-256-7476.

Summer Thunder returns to the Rockstar Bar, 864 Queen St. East. Show time is 10:30 p.m.

The Bushplane Heritage Centre hosts Bushplane Days 2012 from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m. and includes an MNR CL-415 Waterbombing exhibition, MNR fire crew demos, FireSmart Display, helicopter rides, train rides, inflatables, face painting, carnival games, the Spiderman movie, a BBQ, live music and much more! Admission is $5 for general, $2 for kids 6 to 12, and free for ages 5 and under.

10th Annual Oktoberfest in Sault Michigan at Ashmun and Portage from 12 noon until 11 p.m.
includes live polka music by Wil Kilpela & Friends, beer barrel relay races, a tug-o-war competition and, of course, beer, bratwursts and other speciality foods and beverages. The day also includes a farm and craft market, bouncy inflatables for the kids, polka dance classes at the polka stage, and live music late into the night at the Corner Pub, the Satisfied Frog, Soo Brewing and Moloney's Alley.
