Driver arrested - Charged for driving with over 80 milligrams of alcohol

SAULT STE. MARIE - At approximately 2:15 a.m. this morning, an OPP cruiser travelling eastbound on Trunk Road in the city of Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario, observed a mid-sized pick-up truck travelling westbound turn onto Boundary Road.

Police observed two male passengers in the back of the truck box.

The pick-up had no lights on at the time and failed to stop at the flashing red light located at Boundary Road and South Market Street.

The vehicle was stopped and an odour of an alcoholic beverage was detected coming from the driver’s breath.

The roadside screening device was administered.

Twenty-one year old David Fell of Churchill Avenue, Wawa, Ontario was arrested and charged with driving a motor vehicle with over 80 milligrams of alcohol contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada.

The accused was released on a promise to appear for Provincial Offences court in Sault Ste. Marie on October 22, 2012.

Very unprofessional title of article and more importantly with no mention of a charge of impairment the driver was not at all considered impaired by arresting officer, shame that was not included in article as it is essential information. Would appreciate stories not written to embellish seriousness of offences, this is a young man's life and reputation on the line.
