Update on Albert St. assault

Members of the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service have arrested 26 year old Jayme Ryan Bellerose of 28 Manitou Drive in relation to an assault call at 142 Albert Street West.
On the 16th of September, the accused was engaged in a verbal argument with a male victim that was known to him while at the residence of a mutual acquaintance.
The argument escalated and the victim was struck in the head with a beer bottle, and cut in the forehead with a knife.
When the victim fell to the floor, the accused then took an amount of cash from the victim and left the scene.
As a result of the investigation Mr. Bellerose has been charged with one count of robbery.
He will be held for bail court on September 18th 2012.
