Passenger allegedly grabs the wheel

On September 17, 2012 City Police were in the area of Wellington Street East at Bruce Street on a domestic matter.
Police observed a 2006 Hyundai make a right turn against a red light at a high rate of speed and enter the oncoming traffic lane.
The vehicle came to a stop on Bruce Street at a local business.
It is alleged that the passenger grabbed the steering wheel and made the driver make the turn onto Bruce Street putting the driver in jeopardy.
It was found that the accused was in possession of restricted drugs and controlled drugs.
The accused age 23 was arrested and charged with dangerous driving, breach of probation, possession of a controlled substance (morphine) and possession of a restricted drug (clonazepam).
The accused will appear in a bail court on September 18, 2012 at 10:00am
