Got valued garden ornaments? Suggested reading ...

A faithful reader has sent us a warning for people who put nice statuaries out in their gardens.
"I was targeted two nights in a row on the weekend of September 15 in the Lake hill area and am missing about 10 pieces -- a lot were gifts from my children and that I have had for many years," the writer notes.
"This must have happened late at night and it is such a thoughtless thing to do. There is no use calling the police over this type of crime, since they would not be able to do much about it.
"I just thought I would warn others that may want to put their items away. This is such a sad commentary on people who think that they can just take what they want. People such as this should be ashamed of themselves!"

Mimi78 9/17/2012 12:20:15 PM ReportYou should report this to the police, as they will catch the thieves at some point. It's amazing how the police have certain people on their radar, and it's only a matter of time before they have enough evidence to arrest them.
It all adds up when the judge comes to decide on a sentence.
cdn.chick 9/17/2012 1:00:25 PM ReportWas at a wedding a few weeks ago and the best man recounted numerous stories of stupidity... including a friends mother waking one morning to find dozens and dozens of gnomes and other statuary in her front yard... start looking around the neighbourhood... lol!
Prrrrrrr 9/17/2012 1:22:50 PM ReportThis is the time of year that College and University students might do scavenger hunts...I know it's not right, but it happens!
Report the incident, post what's missing in the lost and found section on here and just maybe; somebody will call you if they spot it.
If it were me and I wanted it back...I'd do everything possible to get it back!!!!
SEO 9/17/2012 1:54:58 PM ReportI agree with this person the police would do nothing about it. I hope someone sees her post and has a conscience. Our police don't seem to want to do much about most crime unless it is big.
