Two more animal collisions reported - No injuries

SAULT STE. MARIE - OPP investigated two single motor vehicle collisions involving deer within the past 24 hours.

At 9:30 p.m. yesterday evening, a car collided with a deer in Laird Township on Highway 17 East near Pumpkin Point Road.

At 5:30 a.m. this morning, a deer collided with an SUV on Highway 17 North in Fenwick Township.

No injuries were reported and both vehicles received minor damage and now towing was required.

Six motor vehicle collisions involving wildlife on the highway have been investigated within the past week.

If you spot a wildlife sign on the side of the highway, slow down and proceed with caution, especially at night.

Expect a surprise, animals are unpredictable.
