Woo Hoo! Johnee Rae Whalen!

Local singing talent Johnee Rae Whalen is enjoying the sweet smell of success these days.
On Sunday she won the big prize in a national television contest .
The Lake Superior State University student came out on top in CMT (Country Music Television) Canada’s Big in a Small Town reality show.
The Sault Ste. Marie, ON native was one of two finalists.
Whalen’s talents have carried her to a prize package valued at $100,000.
As well, she has been awarded a singles-based exclusive artist agreement with Slaight Music Inc.
The rewards of winning also include the production of two music videos funded by CMT Canada and an opening slot on the CMT Canada Tour.
Another benefit was participation in the presentation of the Video of the Year Award at the 2012 Canadian Country Music Awards.
