Sault College prepares to welcome home its graduates

SAULT STE. MARIE - The countdown to Sault College’s Homecoming 2012 is on.

For the first time, Sault College’s Alumni Association will welcome several hundred guests at Homecoming 2012 taking place on November 9 to 11.

With campus renewal projects complete and new construction projects underway, the Sault College community is poised to show off the College’s transformation.

“Homecoming is a time of nostalgia and reuniting with old friends,” states Meggan Rudnicki, development and alumni officer. “We are very excited to reconnect with our graduates to share some memories and to find out how they are doing personally and professionally. It’s also a wonderful opportunity to discover the exciting developments that have helped to grow and strengthen our College in recent years.”

This initiative is one of many that are being implemented to raise the Sault College alumni profile and build a network of graduates. 

Alumni are always welcome back to see how much the college has grown within the years.

Festivities get underway on Friday, November 9 with a Welcome Back pub.

On Saturday, guests will enjoy a series of campus events that include a welcome ceremony and lunch, tours of the campus and its new facilities, the creation of a time capsule, and an Alumni basketball game.

The highlight of the weekend will come on Saturday evening with an Alumni Scholarship fundraising dinner that will support student scholarships, bursaries and awards.

“Our Alumni continue to leave a legacy on our College. A primary focus of the Alumni association is to keep our graduates connected and to celebrate their achievements and successes,” notes Rudnicki.

Sault College alumni and friends are warmly invited back to campus for Homecoming Weekend November 9 to 11.
