Green Mile actor Michael Clarke Duncan dead at 54.

Michael Clarke Duncan died Monday morning in hospital in Los Angeles, California.

Duncan's break out roll was his  his portrayal of John Coffee, a gentle death-row inmate with mysterious powers in Green Mile opposite Tom Hanks as the prison guard who befriends him.

Following the film release in 2000 Duncan appeared in at least 50 more productions, including voice acting for the video game God of War II; several animated productions - Brother Bear, Brother Bear 2  and Green Lantern to name a few; as well as many full-length feature films including The Whole Nine Yards, Planet of the Apes, Daredevil, Sin City and Street Fighter: The Legend of Chun-Li.

Duncan was admitted to hospital in Los Angeles on July 14 for treatment of a myocardial infarction but never fully recovered.

His fiancee, Omarosa Manigault-Stallworth, performed CPR before he was sent to the hospital.

He remained in hospital until his death Monday morning.
