I had to drive up town and it was off from Finn Hill, all the way down Black Rd, up Third Line, and onto Great Northern. By the time I was heading back home most of Great Northern was back on though. I live East End and my power flickered/dimmed but never went out.
Wisenheimer 8/31/2012 11:03:01 PM Report

PUC can build a 20 million dollar Taj Mahal on 2nd line, but have trouble keeping the lights on and providing decent water.

Hatch 9/1/2012 10:28:18 AM Report

They can't afford to do anything until their new building is complete. Once that is done, it'll solve "all" our problems.
Greyhoundssuck 9/1/2012 11:43:47 AM Report

We are essentially living like a 3rd world country with the number of power outages that we are seeing. I've had people who are from out of town comment to me that they had noticed a lot of power outages here. I do agree with a few of the other posters to this article that whoever is running the show with the PUC is not doing their job. To have this many consistent large scale power outages is unacceptable.
dobra 9/1/2012 11:59:06 AM Report

We go back to earlier this year and it was suggested at that time that the $23 million dollars they are spending on their "showpiece" should have gone towards replacing aging infrastructure.
Now they are unable to supply a quality of water that is consumable or consistently keep the power on without regular "unplanned" power outages. The top executives of the PUC AND the councilors who voted for the new building should be held accountable. It is time we brought back a PUC commission that should be making the decisions and not the executive or council.
dob131 9/1/2012 12:01:36 PM Report

Ya .. Well... My Water still tastes like crap, and we are paying the highest we have ever paid for water and sewage EVER !!! Thats PUC For you.
medsec 9/1/2012 4:51:10 PM Report
