NORTHERN CREDIT UNION
Kids doing good deeds in 23 communities could win $1,000 for their schools
SAULT STE. MARIE (August 27, 2012) - People doing amazing things with the expectation of nothing in return, and the ripple effect this can have in a community, serve as the inspiration for this year’s back-to-school calendar contest from Northern Credit Union.
The Northern Kids Art Calendar contest encourages children in our local communities to do random acts of kindness and submit drawings depicting these efforts.
First place prizes of $1,000 RESP contributions and second place cash prizes of $250 will be available in both elementary and secondary school categories.
In addition, the winners’ schools will receive $1,000 and $500, respectively, to do something amazing, in keeping with the spirit of the contest.
“Our credit union is our community and our members make us strong,” says Tony Dunham, vice president of Sales & Service for Northern Credit Union. “The Northern Kids Calendar Contest is about celebrating our ability to affect change, even from a young age. The public’s top picks will help make up this year’s calendar, truly reflecting our Northern vision and values.”
Submissions will be accepted online or at local Northern branches from September 4 to October 2.
Between October 17 and 31, the public can vote on their favourite entries at this website.
The 10 submissions with the highest number of votes from both categories will be reviewed by a Northern Credit Union committee in order to determine first and second place winners.
Calendars will be available in each Northern branch in mid-December.
