Over 100 complete 3rd RBC RotaryFest Miracle Mile
Participants of all ages ran, jogged, wheeled and walked the RBC RotaryFest Miracle Mile this weekend just before the 90th Community Day Parade.
The event started near the Canadian Heritage Bushplane Centre, following a route that started on Bay Street, swung up Pim and then proceeded west on Queen to end in front of the Essar Centre.
This year’s event raised the highest total yet for Sault and area young people.
Full results will be posted on the Sault Stryders website.
Nick Adamo recorded the men’s best time finishing first overall in a time of 4:50.
Rhiannon Johns was the first female finisher and third overall with a finish time of 4:59.
“We had another strong turn out this year, despite rain early this morning,” said Nathan Mudge, RBC RotaryFest Miracle Mile co-chair. “It was rewarding to see a number of families, and many young kids as well as the large number of different local athletic teams represented in this years’s event. We were especially happy to welcome sledge hockey participants in the event for the first time.”
